Have you ever lost a favorite pair of shoes to a teething puppy? Have you come home to find garbage all over the room? Destroyed furniture? Craters and a WWI trench network where your flower garden was?

We get calls like this frequently. From something as simple as barking, to a dog that the owner is having trouble house training. Northstar Canine Consulting is able to come to your home and do a behavior consultation to find out what needs to be done in terms of behavior modification.

Behavior Modification

Behavior modification is what we do to tackle unwanted or undesirable behaviors, by using several techniques to teach your dog what the desired behavior is.

Not all undesirable behaviors can be removed entirely, but fortunately they can be managed instead. An example of this would be the Jack Russell Terrier that has turned your beautiful yard into a war zone. You see, terriers were bred to dig, and they do it well, because they enjoy it. What we may do in this case is introduce this dog to a child’s sand box and let him dig to his heart’s content. Your yard stays pit free, while you and your dog remain happy.

Northstar Canine Consulting is able to evaluate your dog to determine what steps can be taken to eliminate or manage problem behavior.
