Canine Evaluations

We here at Northstar Canine Consulting have seen a lot of dogs that were adopted or bought in haste as puppies, but for one reason or another they ended up in a shelter, chained to a tree, or simply abandoned. Our goal is to help prevent that from happening, by educating prospective dog owners so that they may choose wisely and have a long, happy partnership with their pet.

What are the qualities within your particular dog?

Ever wonder what is really within your dog? Yeah he’s sweet, but would he be good at therapy work, Search and Rescue, perhaps agility? Why does he do the things that he does? Is it learned or just part of his genetic personality?

Northstar can help answer these questions. We can conduct evaluations that can tell us what a particular dog would be suited for as well as what techniques would be the most benficial for training your dog. Just as human siblings have different genetic personalities, the same holds true for dogs. Not all German Shepherds would make good police dogs, and not all Labs will excel in field work. We can help you to understand what you have in your dog and how to utilize it to get the most out of your relationship with him.
