Usually, these dogs are trained extensively in protection, which if done correctly will make them less likely to bite than Grandma’s Cocker Spaniel. Properly trained protection dogs are like police officers in the sense that both have a weapon and are taught when it is appropriate to use it and when it is not.

Alright, what’s a detection dog? A detection dog is used to find the specific scents it was trained for. Detection dogs are used to find drugs, weapons, accelerants, termites, molds, fungi, and anything else that has a scent. Lately, more and more companies employ these types of dogs to keep illegal subtances off their properties.
